This house is enjoying a green roof in every sense of the word. Not only is the roof green – Hartford Green to be exact – but it is also “green” in the sense that it is energy efficient.

The Hartford Green has a solar reflectivity index number of 0.27. Meaning that it reflects 27% of the sun’s energy away from the roof. You can see how it compares to our other energy-efficient colors HERE.

It’s also “green” in the sense that it is made with a significant percentage of recycled material… and it is 100% recyclable after a long and useful life. (That’s more than can be said for asphalt shingles.)
